Crown Molding Installation Tips:

Many of you may think that it's too hard to install crown molding on your own. It's really not as hard as everyone makes it out to be. All you really need are the proper tools and a couple of good books that explain the process step by step. The first rule to success when installing crown molding is you ability to feel confident throughout the entire process. Remember to take your time and ALWAYS measure twice...this will save you a lot of heartache.

You will want to measure your room to make sure you get enough crown molding to complete the job. You also will want to talk to your local home improvement store to discuss the materials you will need. Many times you will need a saw, nail gun, hammer and so on. This will all depend on the type of crown molding you get and how you want to install it.

You will also want to read a couple of "how-to" install crown molding books. I say read a couple, because you will find that installation is done slightly different for each person. If you read a couple of books you will be able to choose which installation process feels the best for you. There are also some great YouTube videos that are pretty good at explaining the entire proper (if you are more of a visual person).

I must also mention this again. Do not try to race through this project, because it is going to take some time. Also, don't get frustrated if you make a mistake, just pass it over as experience and continue to work. You will want to make sure to measure twice and keep a small notebook/journal handy so you can jot down all your measurements.

Crown molding
is really great. I've installed it in almost every room of my home. It's been a great learning process and it looks absolutely great!
